Have you ever felt like you are in a group but are still lonely? Are you seeking community but not sure you want to go to a networking event or a bar? Have you ever struggled to share your thoughts in your friend group because you believe you’ll get canceled? Do you have a person or people who really see and get you? The REAL you—not the polished, edited, airbrushed version that shows up on social media, at work, and in other areas of your life?
If these questions resonate with you, this is one of the reasons we started Soul Sessions.
What is Soul Sessions ATL
Initially, Soul Sessions is an event where you get together with 4-8 friends or strangers and discuss things that are top of mind for you. We like to call these an “immersion experience.”
We aim to create a judgment-free zone. We know that these conversations happen spontaneously every day worldwide, so we want to intentionally create a space for them.
Why are we doing this?
Everyone deserves a space where they can feel seen, heard, and understood. People and technology constantly surround us, yet we are becoming more disconnected.
Our Values
Vulnerability (We want people to learn to feel and share emotions openly.. We know that no one is ever finished with personal growth and that pretending that we have it all figured out is the least compassionate way to relate to someone)
Mindfulness/Self-Awareness (In order to move from habitual patterns in our lives and relationships to choicefulness, we first need to develop a level of self-awareness. Mindfulness is the foundation of self-awareness.)
Empathy (One of the biggest challenges to empathy is when the way another person responds to something is different from our own, and then we think, “Why do they feel that way? They should just get over it.” Even if we cannot understand a person’s response, we can know that, if they have that response, there is something in their history that has led them to it, the same way there is something in our history that has led us to all our responses.)
Personal Choice// Agency// Empowerment
Accepting/Non-Judgmental (Each person is the expert on their own life; there is no one right way to live a life)
Focus on fulfillment (People deserve to have a fulfilling life full of experiences and joy based on their own definition of joy. )
Embodiment (The socialization process disconnects people from their bodies and their full self-expression, including breath/sound, sensation, movement, and emotional world. We want people to get back there)
